Baby Boom

Nursery closet; complete with new built-in shelving

New Alphabet bedding thanks to Amazon.com!

We have slowly been collecting and getting ready for this baby that is sure to come (we just don't know when). We didn't want to have a nursery full stocked and just sitting and starting at us but we feel like the time is right to start getting it a little more ready, plus it is fun to do. So the room is now empty and we are slowly working on it. I had picked out this bedding a while ago and I am worried they will discontinue it so that is why we decided to go ahead and pick it up. I love it and it is neutral so it should work either way. The closet was a great task for Dan and turned out even better than I imagined. We have tons of storage space.

Now we just have to decide on the furniture which is harder than I thought. We like one set, but not the price. We like another but not the color. We like one crib but not the dresser... why does this have to be so hard. I guess it is a good thing we have some time.

how exciting for you and dan to start planning and preparing! that bedding is really cute and perfect for either a girl or a boy (which is probably what you had in mind.) Have fun, try hard not to go overboard...it is very easy to do:)

I have really been following this issue as well! I agree with everything you have said. I feel Obama has potential and I hope he can deliver. But abortion is so black and white for me, it's wrong. I guess people like us that can't have babies as easily, hits a nerve a little more than maybe somone who can. but regardless I can't belive that if and when this passes underaged girls can "erase" there baby without any parental consent or involvment.
On a lighter note, yourbedding is so cute and yes wiil be great for either sex. I had everything in order before we had Mia, it was therapy for me to shop for the baby that I knew I would have and when was the only question. You deserve to plan and shop and do all the fun things parents get to do while preparing for a child! (keep it up) You will be a wonderful mom and you will have an outlook on being a mom few are fortunate to feel!

Love the alphabet bedding! It's funny because I feel so anxious for you and Dan to finally have your baby. I can't even imagine what you guys must feel like!

You know what's even funnier? I have the exact same sofa you have! The green one with the plaid pillows? I have a matching love seat too. LOL!

Aranne, I LOVE that bedding! I never had the opportunity to pick out everything for a nursery--I always had hand-me-down furniture (still do!)--but I did choose the bedding. So fun. I hope you will be able put your new nursery to good use soon!

P.S. Awesome closet!

How is it that missed every post since "Blogging Slump"? Did you make a decision about the job?

Also, I agree about funding for abortion. I think that is inevitable (sp?) with any Democratic president. In 4 or 8 years it will be reversed again. But the tide is turning, for the worse, on that and so many matters. What a slippery slope.

How much fun! I have baby things growing out my ears today as I've been to the Toy Fair all day, you'd love it there. I'd love to be a kid growing up today, there's so much stuff out there! Like the George Foreman grill with plastic food, LOVES IT!
On another note, very cute bedding and good job on the shelves Danny boy! Looks like you're getting into baby mode and with that, I'm pretty sure the baby will come any time soon now. XXXX

You guys will be the best parents. I hope Dan plays video games with them all day and crashes into stuff. My mom waited 22 months for me when I was adopted. She said it felt like forever but you can be sure the day will come.

I LOVE it! There is nothing wrong with buying stuff if you like it and it's a good deal. Don't go overboard though. One suggestion I have is start buying diapers. Don't buy newborn size because they don't fit for long, if they fit at all (big baby). Sizes 1 & 2 are your best bet and they (babies)are in them longer than a few weeks. Diapers are expensive too, so if you can start buying a pack every time you go shopping it won't seem so bad. You'll always use them. Same thing with wipes. Just an FYI. Hope it helps. And you don't HAVE to buy name brand. Sometimes they are a little thicker and better for newborns (at least for mine Huggies worked the best) but now I normally buy Walmart brand. But I know others who don't like the generic.
Sorry for the novel I just wrote.
